Kayla Browne is an architect with over a decade of experience across diverse typologies — from custom homes and multifamily housing to award-winning restaurant interiors and large-scale transit infrastructure. Embracing the dual role of architect and self-developer she is developing a 16-unit mixed market “middle” multifamily to prototype innovative, sustainable housing solutions. A strong advocate for inclusive, equitable environments, Browne is co-founder of BEA Calgary and teaches at the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape. She also serves on the City of Calgary’s 2025 Council Advisory Committee on Housing, volunteers with CICBA, and advocates with More Neighbours Calgary. Her work is grounded in a commitment to purpose-driven architecture—beyond visual impact, she uses design as a tool for agency. She seeks out projects that challenge convention and operate at the intersection of design excellence, civic responsibility, and meaningful change.
