As an urban planner, environmental designer and head of Lemay’s urban planning and design studio, Audrey Girard leads major development projects for institutional, private and municipal clients. Specializing in built and landscaped forms and design, she has a keen understanding of current and prescient urban challenges such as ecological transitions, sensitive densification, transportation network integration, community opportunities and inclusion, and heritage as identity vector. This in-depth knowledge, combined with her multiscale and transdisciplinary approach to creative yet efficient urban design, enables her to merge sensitivity and innovation in her practice. Having studied urban planning and environmental design and now teaching urban design at the Université du Québec, Girard brings an extensively informed perspective to the design of innovative built environments. She continues to leave her mark through a number of projects which have reshaped the places we call home, most notably Montreal with the Bassins du Havre master plan and the LEED Platinum and 3-star Fitwel-certified Quartier des Lumières master plan, which received the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) Award of Merit in 2020.
